REHEARSAL OF A MENDELSSHON OCTET
Led by Cellist David Soyer Marlboro Music Festival August 13, 2000
The summer of 2000 marked the 50th year of the Marlboro Music Festival. It began in 1950 at the fledgling Marlboro College, and has continued ever since. It has grown into a world-renowned music festival, and annually draws large numbers of people to Marlboro for formal and informal concerts. This summer influx brings revenue and increased traffic to Marlboro, and furthermore, provides a cultural infusion. The group rehearsing in the photograph later played the Mendelsshon octet as an invigorating finale to the Festival’s final concert of a benchmark year.
